We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our team, the individual will be responsible for protecting sensitive systems and data in compliance with national and international security regulations. This role requires a strong technical foundation in security operations, risk management, and regulatory compliance, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

• Design, implement, and maintain security measures to protect the project's systems, networks, and data in accordance with government cybersecurity regulations and standards.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities specific to government/public-sector systems and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Monitor, configure, and manage security tools including SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus solutions to detect and respond to threats affecting sensitive government infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain encryption protocols and authentication mechanisms that meet government data protection and confidentiality requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable national cybersecurity frameworks and regulations (e.g., Bangladesh's Digital Security Act, National ICT Policy, and guidelines from BGD e-GOV CIRT), as well as international standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on government systems, ensuring findings are documented and reported per required protocols.
• Lead incident response efforts for security breaches involving sensitive or classified data, including coordination with relevant government cybersecurity authorities where required.
• Maintain strict data handling, storage, and access control procedures for sensitive government and citizen data, ensuring data sovereignty and confidentiality requirements are met.
• Develop, review, and update security policies, procedures, and documentation to align with government audit and compliance requirements.
• Conduct threat intelligence research with particular attention to threats targeting government/public infrastructure and critical systems.
• Manage vulnerability lifecycle processes — identification, prioritization, patching, and verification — with reporting suited to government stakeholder review.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, government counterparts, and regulatory bodies to embed security best practices into system design, development, and deployment.
• Support government-mandated audits and security assessments (internal and external), providing documentation, evidence, and remediation plans as required.
• Conduct security awareness training for project staff to reduce human-factor risks, particularly around handling of sensitive government data.
• Maintain any required security clearance or vetting status as mandated by the government client, and ensure adherence to confidentiality/non-disclosure obligations tied to the project.
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies suitable for government-grade deployments, factoring in compliance and procurement constraints

• Experience in security risk assessment and mitigation.
• Proficiency in security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus software.
• Strong understanding of encryption and authentication mechanisms.
• Certification in information security (e.g., CISSP, CISM).
• Experience in securing sensitive data.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
• Experience in threat intelligence and vulnerability management.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Professional certifications (Minimum Associate Level of CEH, Cisco CyberOps Associate, Cisco Cyber Security Associate, or equivalent).
• Additional relevant cybersecurity certifications will be considered an added advantage

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's/Master's in Information Security/ Computer Science, or related field
